BAL Primer 1C is a rapid-drying red primer that helps reduce porosity and stabilise backgrounds prior to the application of BAL Waterproof 1C waterproof coating. BAL Primer 1C can be used on most common building substrates, such as rendered brick/concrete/lightweight blockwork, cement:sand screed, plaster, /Tile Backer Boards/Fibre Cement Boards and overlaid timber floors. before waterproofing.
A high performance undiluted primer, it provides stability to friable surfaces and reduces the porosity of absorbent backgrounds/bases. Rapid drying in only 15-30 minutes for fast track project completion. Red colour ensures complete coverage is achieved.
Please Note: It is not suitable for use on: Metal, painted surfaces, existing non-porous surfaces (existing glazed or porcelain tiles), epoxy coatings, some manufactured board systems (check with manufacturer first) and in total immersion areas (e.g. swimming pools).

How to use BAL Primer 1C:
It's important that BAL Primer 1C remains undiluted and isn't used in temperatures below 5°C.
- Start by ensuring surfaces to be primed are free from dirt, grease and other loose materials. Brush down highly polished surfaces with a stiff bristle brush before priming to allow optimal primer adhesion.
- Apply 1 coat of primer using a clean brush from a container. If you're using BAL Primer 1C on a floor area, do not allow the primer to allow to form puddles.
- Ensure even coverage over the area to be primed.
- Allow the primer to dry thoroughly before applying tile adhesive. This should take roughly 15-30 minutes at room temperatures.
- Clean product from tools using clean water.
