What is a decoupling membrane for?
Decoupling Membranes are often used to reduce stresses between subfloors and tiles. As subfloors move, shrink, and settle, these membrane act as a decoupling or uncoupling layers that absorb the lateral movements, and so prevent the tiled floor from cracking and breaking up. Many of the membranes we stock are waterproof, as well as having thermal and sound insulation properties.
