How to Use
IMPORTANT: Before using Bostik AP 250 Flexibond refer to the relevant Health & Safety Data Sheet, available at www.bostik.co.uk. Tiling and grouting should be carried out in accordance with the relevant British Standards Codes of Practice.
Mixing:
1. Mix 1 part Bostik AP 250 Flexibond to 2 parts water by volume.
2. Add the selected Bostik cementitious tile adhesive to the diluted Bostik Flexibond, mixing well to obtain a slump free, workable consistency.
Priming / Sealing:
3. Do not apply neat, as skinning may occur which may cause delamination. Apply to substrate using a brush. If the surface is still absorbent, apply a second coat. Dries in approximately 1 hour.
Tiling:
4. Ensure that all surfaces are clean, dry, sound and free from dust, grease or any contaminating barrier. Make good any unsound areas and remove flaky or peeling layers before tiling.
Grouting:
5. Ensure that tiles are firmly fixed and adhesive is completely set. Bostik standard set adhesives should normally be left for at least 24 hours before grouting. Bostik rapid setting adhesives should be left for at least 3 to 4 hours, however these times will be increased with sealed or impervious substrates or at low ambient temperatures, or high humidity. Ensure tiles and joints are clean, dry, sound and free from dust, grease or any contamination.
Application:
6. Apply the Bostik adhesive and grouts modified with Bostik AP 250 Flexibond in the same way as when they are mixed only with water.
7. Surplus material should be cleaned from surfaces before it dries using a damp cloth.
8. The addition of Bostik AP 250 Flexibond may slightly alter the working and setting times of the Bostik cement based tile adhesives.
9. To ensure uniform grout colour the same mix proportions must be used throughout an installation.
Cleaning:
10. Follow the adhesive or grout product’s cleaning recommendations.
11. Clean tools and equipment immediately after use with water.
