Installing Long Boards on Walls

Using long tile backer boards (2440mm or 2500mm) allows you to use a single full height board without the need for cuts and noggin supports. This approach saves you both time and money on materials and install. We stock two varieties of long tile backer boards here at Tile Fix Direct, the  Marmox Multiboard and the Orbry Long Tile Backer Board.

The boarded walls should always be fixed to a tolerance of at least +/-3mm over a 2m length.

*If you're fixing the boards mechanically with Spankers over old plaster or tiling the walls, you will need to be within the above tolerances. If not, otherwise it will be necessary to chop off and fix by dot and dab plus spankers.

Use Evo-Stik The Dog's B** sealant between the edges of boards if the wall needs to be waterproof (tanked).

All quantities are estimates and should be checked for sufficiency. Long boards do not survive courier deliveries, so they are only available Click and Collect.
