What's in the Schluter Waterproofing Kit?

Schluter Ditra Matting

Schluter DITRA Matting is a polyethylene membrane with a grid structure of square cavities. Each cavity has dovetail configurations cut in the back and an anchoring fleece laminated to the underside of the membrane for enhanced adhesion. DITRA Matting is 1 metre wide and only 3mm thick and provides the thinnest possible layer without sacrificing performance, making it a universal substrate for tile covering. It serves as an uncoupling layer for problematic surfaces, crack bridging, and a waterproofing membrane.

Schluter DITRA Matting can be used for both floor and wall applications on a wide range of surfaces including timber, concrete, mortar screeds, gypsum-based screeds, heated screeds and mixed substrates. DITRA Matting is suitable for use with underfloor heating systems, providing a decoupling layer between the underfloor heating and the tiles. In addition, DITRA Matting also serves as a water vapour pressure equaliser by incorporating a special layer that accommodates moisture occurring underneath the substrate.

Schluter Kerdi Keba Waterproofing Tape

Schluter Keba Waterproofing Tape is a soft waterproofing polyethylene tape. This tape is covered on both sides with a special fleece webbing used to anchor the tape in suitable adhesive. Schluter recommends using their Kerdi Coll Sealing Adhesive with this product which is included in this bundle. Schluter Keba Waterproofing Tape is a sealing band that is used to seal matting and board connections or joints. It’s suitable for both wall and floor connections. This product can be used to create waterproof joins in conjunction with Kerdi Board tile backer boards and Ditra 25 Matting.

This tape is made from high performance Kerdi 200 Membrane material, making it waterproof and resistant to most chemical stresses found in tiling and tile insulations. The Keba tape is used to waterproof joints in Ditra or Kerdi matting, as a skirting round a wet room wall/floor junction or between Ditra matting and shower trays.

Schluter Kerdi-Coll Adhesive

Schluter Kerdi-Coll is a two part sealant adhesive based on a solvent free acrylate dispersion and a reactive cementitious powder. Mix the two parts together prior to application to activate the adhesive. Kerdi-Coll is suitable for adhering the Keba on Kerdi sealing tape and Ditra matting. This construction, in conjunction with the materials Kerdi or Ditra and the corresponding sealing band KEBA, results in a waterproofing assembly that meets the stringent requirements of moisture categories 0-B0 of the German ZDB Information Sheet.

This adhesive is hard wearing and suitable for both wall & floor areas, in both indoor & outdoor applications! Schluter Kerdi-Coll should always be applied to dry cuts/membranes for maximum adhesion. The curing and installation time is approximately 60 to 90 minutes at 20 to 30 degrees.

Ardex AF200 Matting Adhesive (with free trowel)

Ardex AF200 PLUS Uncoupling Matting Adhesive is a ready mixed easy to apply matting adhesive. It is ideal for installing fleece-backed uncoupling mats prior to tiling. AF200 is included in a 6kg sized tub in this bundle, which should give you up to 19m² coverage if applied correctly with the free trowel.

Ardex AF200 PLUS adhesive is used in internal dry areas only. With this adhesive you can fix fleece backed matting to timber, concrete & cement or sand screed subfloors - with no need to prime! This adhesive has a tack-life of an hour, leaving you plenty of time to work after application. Ardex AF200 PLUS has a high initial grab, limiting mat curling for easy installation and speeding up work time. Tiling can begin immediately after the matting is laid.

How to install Schluter Ditra Matting

Installing Ditra matting is an easy 3 step process!

1. Make sure that the substrate you're fixing the matting to is clean. The substrate must be free of bond inhibiting components, be load bearing and be even. Any unevenness in the substrate must be levelled prior to the application of Ditra matting.

2. Apply the bonding adhesive to the substrate using a notched trowel. Ardex AF200 is the ideal bonding solution, although anydrate screeds may require additional preparation to ensure the substrate is dry and ready to recieve adhesive. We recommend the Ardex B1 2mm notched trowel for use with decoupling membranes. The adhesive must bond to the substrate and mechanically anchor the fleece on the underside of the Ditra Matting. You can verify the compatibility of all materials prior to installation either with our friendly Tile Fix Direct customer service team, or with Schluter.

3. Individual courses of Ditra matting should be cut to size. Solidly embed the anchoring fleece on the underside of your matting in the adhesive so that its entire surface is bonded and immediately work it into the adhesive using a float or screed trowel. Please observe the open time of the bonding adhesive. When initially positioning Ditra Matting, it is advisable to align and position the matting while slightly stretching it. Application is made easier with a second person. The side edges and ends of individual courses are cut straight and abutted.

Note: If Schluter Ditra matting is only installed as an uncoupling membrane, side edges and ends of individual courses do not need to be sealed with Schluter Kerdi-Keba tape. Please refer to the instructions for waterproofing if the membrane is to serve as a waterproofing layer.

Special 1 - 2 Day Shipping occurs when an item is sent to you direct from the manufacturer, usually on a next day service. This usually incurs a flat rate shipping charge of £15.99.

Click and Collect

We offer a free Click and Collect service on all stocked items at our main warehouse. Click and Collect orders are available for collection from 08:30am to 16:00pm Monday to Friday. Please allow 2 hours from your order to when you come and collect. Please wait for and bring your order confirmation paperwork with you. Delivery Damages

It's important that you indicate the damages on the delivery note when you sign for the goods. Notify Tile Fix Direct by emailing us or calling our advice line on 0333 320 04 24 if there are any damages or irregularities to your order within 24 hours of delivery.
